STEM Department receives grant for after school coding clubs

Recognized for their work in Computer Science Education, the Dallas ISD STEM Department has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the DFW Alliance of Technology and Women (DFW*ATW) through their GREATMINDS program (Girls Reaching for Education About Technology and Moving in New Directions for Success)!

This generous grant will be used to provide training and stipends for the sponsors of after school coding clubs at ten elementary campuses. The clubs will meet once a week for 10 weeks this spring. The goal of the clubs is to inspire students to become creative problem solvers using the technology that is shaping the world.

DFW*ATW is a dynamic non-profit organization that supports women and men who share the common interests of empowering women in technology, increasing the number of women in executive roles and encouraging women and girls to enter technology fields.
