Eighteen students headed to regional spelling bee

Can you spell I-M-P-R-E-S-S-I-V-E?

About 120 students from 70 Dallas ISD schools recently participated in six districtwide spelling bees, and 18 of those students are now headed to the county spelling bee. More students participated in the districtwide spelling bees than the previous year, when 95 students from 60 schools competed.

The county spelling bee is Feb. 16, and the winner from that will move on to the regional spelling bee. The winner from the regional spelling bee will then move on to the national spelling bee where they will compete for $50,000 in prizes and scholarships.
