Graduating Dallas ISD student-athlete seniors who have committed to scholarship offers to play sports and study at colleges and universities will get their moment to shine at the Athletic Signing Day event on Feb. 1, 11 a.m. at Ellis Davis Field House.

The event will kick off with a Legacy Walk comprised of Dallas ISD graduates who played sports in college. Dallas ISD graduates who went on to play sports in college can still sign up to participate in the Legacy Walk by emailing ascogin@dallasisd.org.

Dallas ISD Athletics Director Gil Garza said the legacy walk and signing day are a time to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of the district’s student-athletes.

“Celebrating our students’ successes is something we love to do, and we are are very proud of our past and present student-athletes,” Garza said. “We commend the commitment in and out of the classroom each student-athlete has made to attain the great goal of competing at the collegiate level.”

The district launched the Athletic Signing Day celebration in 1999.

The Signing Day is open to the public. The Ellis Davis Field House is located at 9191 S. Polk St.
