Application deadline

The deadline for students to submit their applications for two-way dual language, collegiate academies, magnet schools, and choice schools is quickly approaching. (Learn more)

Blue Ribbon nomination

Three Dallas ISD schools have been nominated for the 2017 national Blue Ribbon Schools award. (Learn more)

MLK oratory winner

Sierra Jones, a fifth-grader at Charles Rice Learning Center, was named the top orator at the 25th Annual Gardere MLK Jr. Oratory Competition. (Learn more)

Sprinting ahead

Sprint donated free mobile devices and wireless Internet connectivity to about 250 students at Conrad High School. (Learn more)

Canned food drive

Hotchkiss Elementary students completed a canned food drive that collected nearly 1,300 meals for chronically hungry children, families and seniors. (Read this)

Bond community meetings

Architects and program managers for two bond improvement projects will meet with parents, students and community members next week to view and discuss plans for scheduled construction. (Learn more)

Deadline approaches for Healthy Eating Challenge

The deadline for the Kids Teaching Kids Healthy Eating Challenge is Sunday. Schools with the most participation could win up to $900 for their PE departments (Sign up here)
