Another Friday marks the end of another great week in Dallas ISD!

The TEA announcing that more schools received academic distinctions, 16 of our seniors being named National Merit semifinalists, and festive celebrations for Hispanic Heritage Month were just some of the highlights this week.

Hispanic Heritage Month

Arturo Salazar Elementary hosts a great event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. (Watch a video from the event)

Food for thought

An official from the United States Department of Agriculture got a firsthand look at the food and culinary programs at two Dallas ISD schools. (Read this)

College fair

Juniors and seniors attended the district’s annual college fair to learn more about possible futures after graduation. (See photos from the event)

Historic celebration

A historical marker unveiling celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Harllee Early Childhood Center brought together hundreds of community members. (Learn more)

STEM teachers recognized

These seven Dallas ISD teachers received Texas Instruments Innovations in STEM Teaching Awards totaling $70,000 in grants.

National Merit semifinalists 

Dallas ISD has 16 National Merit semifinalists, one of the highest national recognitions for a high school student. We asked them all one very hard question: “What’s your favorite cereal?” (Watch their responses)
