The Dr. Billy Earl Dade Middle School Math and Science departments recently went on a cruise to prepare for the upcoming school year.
Prior to the school year starting, Dade Principal Tracie Washington encourages each department to host a meet and greet to get to know each other and set a positive tone for the rest of the school year.
This year the Math and Science departments took a cruise in Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall and participated in team building activities.
“What I enjoyed most about the experience was meeting and greeting new teachers and how vested all the teachers are in our students, school, and upcoming school year,” said Thomas Manson, a Dade teacher who went on the cruise. “We cannot control the wind but we can direct the sails.”
Other departments went bowling, to Dave and Busters, and to Outback Steakhouse. Students return to school Aug. 22.
