Skyline High School is set to host its first outdoor commencement ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at John E. Kincaide Stadium, 9191 S. Polk St., Dallas, TX 75232.

Given the weather forecast of rain for portions of the weekend, the Skyline administration and Dallas Independent School District have set the following rain contingency schedule:

  • If there are signs of rain at 7 a.m., Saturday, the outdoor graduation will be postponed and a phone message and other notifications will be sent.
  • If the Saturday outdoor graduation is postponed, the plan is to hold the graduation ceremonies outdoors at Kincaide Stadium at 8 a.m., Sunday, June 5.
  • If the Saturday outdoor graduation is postponed and the rain chances continue to be a threat by 6 a.m., Sunday, the commencement ceremony will be moved indoors to Alfred J. Loos Field House. The graduation will be held in two parts: The first graduation will start at 9:30 a.m. for the Career Development Center students followed by the comprehensive students graduating at 11:30 a.m.

Students and families will be notified by automated phone message, social media postings on the school and district’s Twitter and Facebook accounts, a notification on RemindMe, via the media and other avenues.
