Bummed because you missed the deadline to submit your application to the Compass Alternative Certification Teacher Academy? You’re in luck! The deadline has been extended to Monday, May 9.
Compass provides a unique opportunity for professionals looking to transition into education to become classroom leaders. Accepted candidates participate in an intensive summer training program followed by a year-long internship leading your own classroom.
Personalized coaching and lessons from the district’s top teachers provide the support you need for success. Upon successful completion, program participants will receive a teaching certificate and an offer to teach full-time in a Dallas ISD school.
With more 40 percent of district students exhibiting limited English proficiency, bilingual teachers are essential. Nearly 90 percent of Dallas ISD students are classified as economically disadvantaged, and more 95 percent belong to a minority ethnic group.
Teachers in Dallas ISD can help students overcome their circumstances, and have the rewarding opportunity of shaping the leaders of tomorrow. For more information on the Compass program and to begin an application, visit the application page of the Compass Alternative Certification website.
