W.W. Samuell High School is hosting a health, wellness and financial fitness fair and 5K run this weekend that is open to the Pleasant Grove community.
The 5K Fun Run/Walk will start at 7 a.m., and the health, wellness, and financial fitness fair will go from 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
The event will feature workshops such as:
- Child support (Attorney General’s office)
• Office of Emergency Preparedness, City of Dallas
• Women’s safety and defense (Dallas Police Department) • Diabetes awareness
• Asthma awareness
• Heart health
• CHIP, SNAP, and Medicaid
• Financing your child’s education (FAFSA)
• Addiction recovery
• Financing your home
• Credit repair
• Personal financial wellness
• Pre- and post-natal health
• Cancer prevention awareness
• Buying a home
• Starting and sustaining a small business
Additional events:
- Mammogram testing
- HIV testing
- Salsa dance classes (Presented by Dancing Classroom)
- Zumba and Pilates classes (Presented by Ida Rocha, Dance Instructor at Samuell HS)
- Kickboxing for self-defense classes
