Lowe Elementary students receive donated backpacks, supplies from Kroger

Students at Jack Lowe Sr. Elementary were all smiles last week as they received donated backpacks and school supplies from Kroger.

Lowe Elementary students performed a skit, made handwritten signs, and showed off their new backpacks in appreciation of Kroger’s donation.

Samantha Mason, a public affairs specialist with Kroger, said the students treated her, Norcona Doxey and Ryan Offield, both Kroger store managers, like celebrities.

“I was tearing up as I was walking down the hallway, the students were so great,” Mason said.

Through Kroger’s Backpack Booster campaign, students at 118 Dallas ISD schools received more than $70,000 worth of donated school supplies this year.

“Our partnership with Kroger shows what true community involvement is all about,” said Tom Hayden, manager of Dallas ISD Volunteer and Partnership Services.
