On Monday, students will for the first time attend the STEAM Middle School at D.A. Hulcy, which is a student-centered, community-based school that anchors teaching and learning under a science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics model.

The school is part of the district’s effort to launch a total of 35 new Choice Schools by the year 2020.

The Hub caught up with Jonica Lockwood, principal of STEAM Middle School at D.A. Hulcy, as the school prepares to open its doors. Watch the above video to learn more about what parents and students have to look forward to this year.
