At the start of the teacher recruitment season, Superintendent Mike Miles set a goal for all Dallas ISD classrooms to start the 2015-2016 school year with a qualified teacher at the helm. The dedication of the district’s recruitment staff has put Dallas ISD on track to meet that goal for the second year in a row.
The Human Capital Management talent acquisition team stays focused on their ultimate purpose, according to Talent Leader Jordan Carlton.
“There is nothing more important to a child’s education than having a great teacher in the classroom,” he said. “As the recruiting team, we always keep that in mind and strive to make sure every Dallas ISD student has the teacher they need to be successful.”
Carlton attributes candidate interest in part to district initiatives such as TEI and Destination 2020.
The recruitment team knows their process never stops, Carlton said. They will continue reaching out to candidates throughout the summer to share opportunities in the district. In an effort to create connections between those candidates and Dallas ISD principals, they will hold two more job fairs to help fill any additional vacancies that open during the summer.
Anyone interested in learning more about becoming a teacher in Dallas ISD is encouraged to register for and attend one of the remaining job fairs. Visit the Job Fair webpage to register for the June 18 or July 21 events.
