Arcadia Park Heart of Child Nutrition Team++“Outstanding,” “nice,” “helpful,” “muy buena,” and “muy amable” are just a few of the ways the Arcadia Park Elementary faculty and students describe their cafeteria staff. Valerie Waiters and team prepare and serve breakfast and lunch for 600 students and supper for 200. The Arcadia Park cafeteria team was the first to be honored with the Heart of Child Nutrition Award presented by Food and Child Nutrition Services. FCNS will recognize a school cafeteria team each day this week in observance of School Nutrition Appreciation Week.

The award and praise are both well-deserved said FCNS Specialist Amy Jah, who surprised the staff with the award on Monday. “Mrs. Waiters and her team at Arcadia Park Elementary are always full of positivity, making it their overall goal to do whatever is possible to make each student’s lunchroom experience a great one,” said Jah.

“When you walk into the cafeteria at Arcadia Park you always feel a sense of warmth as each employee greets you with a bright smile! Their hard work never goes unnoticed!”
