JFK Career Day encourages students to think about their future plans

John F. Kennedy Learning Center played host to its 10th-annual College/Career Day on Friday, May 1. Representatives from more than 15 colleges and universities, City of Dallas and Dallas County departments and businesses discussed their education and career paths with students.

Institutions of higher learning that were represented included SMU, TCU, UNT, TWU, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Texas A&M-Commerce, Texas A&M-Texarkana, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Baylor, UT-Dallas, UT-Southwestern, UT-Arlington, Oklahoma State and El Centro College.

Members of the Dallas Police Department – including its canine unit; Dallas Fire Department; Dallas Public Works; Dallas County District Attorney’s Office; a Dallas County judge; Baylor Hospital and the U.S. Marines. From the community, there were attorneys, dentists and representatives from the Hilton-Anatole Hotel, Celebration Station, Peter Piper Pizza and KERA-Channel 13.
