Skyline, SOC advance to area football playoffs

Skyline, SOC advance to area football playoffs

Skyline 41, Lake Highlands 14
Skyline broke into Class 6A-Division I-Region II playoff action with a 41-14 victory over Lake Highlands on Friday night at Forester Field.

Skyline’s Kylan Johnson, Daleon Ward and Carlos Strickland played key roles in the Raiders’ win, according to a Dallas Morning News recap of the game.

Skyline (11-0) will play Belton (6-5) for the Region II Area matchup at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, at Waco ISD Stadium.

Belton defeated Garland 50-27 to advance to area competition.

SOC 37, Lancaster 34
SOC and Lancaster met up at Kincaide Stadium in a heated rally. SOC came from behind to win with 37 seconds left as TCU -bound senior receiver J.F. Thomas caught a 35-yard touchdown pass for the victory, lifting South Oak Cliff to 37-34 over Lancaster in a Class 5A Division II bi-district game.

South Oak Cliff (8-3), will face Marshall (7-4) at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Tyler’s Rose Stadium.
