Dallas ISD is recruiting volunteers to help the Technology Department distribute computers to elementary school students starting Monday, Aug. 17. Two shifts are available: 8–11 a.m. and 12–5 p.m. To receive clearance to volunteer, you must register at dallasisd.voly.org via Chrome, Firefox or Edge per the following instructions: Complete the appropriate General volunteer application. The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees and district leaders will discuss the district’s reopening plan in detail during the board briefing happening Aug. 13. The board briefing starts at 11:30 a.m. and is available to watch live on Facebook in English and Spanish or on MyVRSpot. During Thursday’s meeting, district leaders will also brief trustees on how Dallas ISD plans to offer extracurricular, co-curricular and elective course offerings to students who choose at-home learning and how the district plans to mitigate learning loss caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
