WFAA reports how two veteran Dallas Independent School District teachers took part in Moderna’s successful COVID-19 vaccine trials, and even recruited some colleagues to join them. Diane Birdwell and Vickie Tillery at Bryan Adams High School said the wanted to particpate in the vaccine trial because they wanted to make a difference. Watch the full story here.
Supplemental Health Care donated coats to students at Cedar Crest and Bushman elementary schools! Employees at the business raised more than $500 to outfit students with winter weather gear. Anyone interested in donating new jackets, school supplies or new uniforms should email partners@dallasisd.org.
NAF Academies at Carter, North Dallas and South Oak Cliff High Schools are excited to announce their participation for the 2020-2021 Lenovo Scholar Network program. The Lenovo Scholar Network, now in its seventh year, encourages greater interest among high school students from under-invested in communities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), while providing them with high-tech skills critical in today’s job market.
