More than 110 Dallas ISD student-athletes formally announced their college selections during the Annual National Signing Day on Feb. 3. The event recognized and introduced all Dallas ISD senior student-athletes who have signed National Letters of Intent for a collegiate sport. This includes sports such as basketball, baseball, cross-country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, track and field, volleyball and wrestling. See the list of student-athletes here!
Dallas ISD is sending postcards to students who have not been engaging in school and have numerous absences. The postcards will tell students and families how they can reengage or reenroll in school. The postcards are being mailed this week to high school students who have not been engaged with school, with elementary and middle school students to follow soon. Anyone interested in reengaging with school is encouraged to contact their campus. Anyone interested in enrolling or reenrolling in school is encouraged to call 972-925-5560.
The Thanks-Giving Foundation, One+One Dallas – First United Methodist Church of Dallas, and Faith Forward Dallas at Thanks-Giving Square are working together to serve up gratitude to Dallas ISD teachers. As Dallas ISD moves into the new school year, the Parent Service Department is excited to announce that effective Jan. 26, 2021, parents will be able to view and/or download the first Truancy Warning Notice through the Parent Resource Center. To access the Truancy Warning Notice, click here. Education Code 25.087 requires school districts to notify a student’s parent if the student has unexcused absences for three days or parts of days within a four-week period.
