Days shy of the Christmas holiday, a pair of parents spread a little holiday cheer and made a recent work day for one Dallas ISD crossing guard extra special. Nathaniel Kendrick tends to the Lakewood Elementary School crossing walk twice, daily. Manning his post, Kendrick never wavers from his number one priority: safely walking students across the street. This year, Dallas ISD Connect Contact Center staff shared a little bit of holiday spirit by greeting families, helping with purchases and customer service at the Treasure of Hope, an annual shopping effort that allows families in need to shop for merchandise at 75 percent off retail value. Treasure of Hope provides selected families a $40 credit to spend in their holiday store. The effort supported by the Dallas Leadership Foundation includes a donation of toys and money from more than 20 churches and community- and faith-based organizations and serves 400-500 families and 1,500 children through the work of more…
