The district intends to seek a waiver from the Texas Education Agency so that schools will not need to make up the third inclement weather day that took place March 5. If the Board of Trustees and TEA approve the waiver, the last day of school would remain Friday, June 5. The district has two inclement weather days built into the calendar in case weather causes the closure of schools. The State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) starts Monday, March 30, and there’s still time to help students prepare for success on the exams. Prep University All Star Workshops continue across the district, providing opportunities to help parents better understand the test requirements and gather helpful tips to prepare their children for the test. Parents will view sample test questions and learn how STAAR impacts graduation.
