Most of the recently graduated Dallas ISD high school seniors grew up attending elementary, middle and high schools within the district. Before they start college or enter the workforce, some recent graduates shared what impact Dallas ISD has made on their futures. Today, Eden Phillips, a graduate from Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School, shares what Dallas ISD means to her.
Under the direction of their teacher, Ms. Green, fourth-graders at Nathaniel Hawthorne Elementary School compiled a video to discuss and show the many benefits of empathy. Also, be sure to watch until the end of the video to see some adorable outtakes.
Any 2015 Dallas ISD graduates who have not finalized their college plans are encouraged to attend a special event to check out programs available at Dallas County Community Colleges. The free “#DestinationRegistration” event is set for 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, June 16, at the West Campus of El Centro College, 3330 N. Hampton Road. Students are invited to learn about the many career and technical programs the colleges offer; apply for admission and financial aid; and receive official Dallas ISD transcripts from district representatives.
