As the students prepare to participate in this weekend’s Taste of Dallas, CW 33 visited the budding chefs at the Culinary Arts Program at Wilmer-Hutchins to see what they had cooking. Richard Grimsley, director of Career and Technical Education in Dallas ISD, told The Hub that Taste of Dallas offers a phenomenal opportunity for Dallas ISD culinary arts students to have experiences beyond their high school classroom. Dallas ISD is offering free Princeton Review PSAT Prep sessions this summer. Space is limited, so district officials recommend those interested to register soon. The free prep sessions are open to all incoming Dallas ISD students in grades 9–11. There will be two two-week sessions held Tuesday–Thursday from 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. The sessions will be: Session A: July 7–9 and July 14–16 Session B: July 21–23 and July 28–30 The sessions will be held at Thomas Jefferson High School, North Dallas High School, L.G. Robert E. Lee and William B. Lispcomb elementary schools are the latest Dallas Independent School District campuses to participate in the International Baccalaureate program, both entering as Primary Years Programme (PYP) schools. As PYP schools, both Lee and Lispcomb will be among approximately 1,266 schools nationwide to implement this first stage of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which assists students ages 3-12 in developing the skills, knowledge and attitudes needed to excel in their studies and in their personal growth.
