More than $1.37 million in Stars on the Rise scholarships will be awarded to 275 graduating seniors across north Texas, including from Dallas ISD. The program is coordinated by the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and funded through drives and corporate donations. The scholarships range from $2,000 to $96,000 – the highest amount representing a four-year scholarship from Austin College. During the past 32 years, the fund has given more than $30 million in scholarships to more than 3,500 students. A news conference on Tuesday, June 16, highlighted the amounts raised and the partnerships that make the scholarships possible.…

Before they start college or enter the workforce, some recent graduates shared what impact Dallas ISD has made on their futures.
