Robert T. Hill Middle School staff and students recognized their Board of Trustee, Dan Micciche, at an activity in the school library on Friday, Jan. 29. Students delivered speeches on the qualities of a leader and how Micciche exemplified those qualities. Two students from the Theatre Acts Class gave monologues representing Micciche’ s past and future. Students also described how the programs at Hill were preparing them to be the great leaders of tomorrow. Everyone at the event thanked Micciche for supporting literacy, spearheading a policy change making daily recess mandatory at all elementary schools, and for promoting programs for the academic success…
Dallas ISD Superintendent Michael Hinojosa will continue to host informal discussions with teachers and parents/community members during two sessions in February and another two sessions in March. Attendees are invited to ask questions and provide feedback and suggestions at the meetings. Gaylord Robert Atkinson, a 93-year-old World War II veteran and Purple Heart recipient, recently shared his war stories with a classroom full of Leadership Cadet Corp students at Thomas C. Marsh Preparatory Academy. Students were noticeably impressed by what Atkinson had to say. WFAA 8 has the full story here.
