Dallas ISD is providing summer enrichment camps through its Summer Achievers Academy, a Dallas ISD partnership with Dallas City of Learning and Big Thought. Summer Achievers is a tuition-free, full day enrichment summer camp designed to provide creative, extra-curricular opportunities to district students to support their interests beyond the traditional classroom setting. Students accepted to the program are eligible for tuition from their home campuses and will receive free breakfast, lunch and dinner. At a news conference earlier this week, Dallas ISD announced the expansion of the Early College High School model, and it was nothing short of amazing with great media coverage! In the fall, eight collegiate academies will be offered throughout the district. Each will be housed at comprehensive high schools and are considered, “schools within schools”. The Dallas ISD Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Department has put out its first department newsletter, and it’s great! The newsletter, which you can see in full here, covers STEM Summer Camps, the Math Olympiad, the district science fair, robotics competition, and much more.
