Ann Richards Middle School held an “On Track” brunch to celebrate its more than 300 eighth-graders who are on track to go on to high school next school year. The students in the Class of 2021 celebrated at the brunch have maintained satisfactory academics, behavior and attendance so far this school year. Did you know that Molina High School has a restaurant that serves lunch to the public twice a week? Culinary students at the school help operate M.J.’s Cafe at the school. The cafe is open to the public on Tuesdays and Wednesday from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. The Oak Cliff Advocate has more tasty details on the cafe here.

On Friday, Feb. 2, students at Dallas ISD’s Jerry Junkins Elementary School got a real kick out of a recent donation. The school has a new soccer field thanks to a $5,000 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant. After an official ribbon-cutting, students took turns playing each other on the new field. Carrollton firefighters from a station near the school stopped by to show their support.
