The Rotary Club of Dallas is accepting teacher applications for its annual Service Above Self Awards through April 17th. The awards recognize teachers who strive to make a positive difference in the lives of others through demonstrated Service Above Self and who go above and beyond the call of duty. Teachers may self-nominate, and community members may nominate deserving teachers. Winning recipients each receive a cash award of $2,500 or more, a customized engraved plaque, and an American flag which has been flown over the US Capitol in Washington, D.C. in their name. Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and Dallas ISD employees can still buy professionally prepared roses from Skyline High School’s Eco-Tech cluster! The beautiful roses cost $4o for a dozen or $25 for a half dozen. Thursday afternoon is the deadline to order the flowers in time for Valentine’s Day. Supplies are limited. Ann Richards Middle School held an “On Track” brunch to celebrate its more than 300 eighth-graders who are on track to go on to high school next school year. The students in the Class of 2021 celebrated at the brunch have maintained satisfactory academics, behavior and attendance so far this school year. Did you know that Molina High School has a restaurant that serves lunch to the public twice a week? Culinary students at the school help operate M.J.’s Cafe at the school.
