Dallas ISD seniors who plan to attend Dallas College in the fall will have exclusive access to getting registered for the next school year. Dallas College will be at nearly 30 high school campuses to help students register for the fall semester by collecting required documentation and assisting in sign-up for classes. In four District UIL Academic contests, 145 Dallas ISD students from 19 campuses qualified to compete at UIL Regionals. These students competed in 22 academic contests, ranging from speech to STEM to writing. To be eligible to participate in the UIL Regional competition, students had to place first, second, or third in their respective contests at the district level. Held at Skyline High School on March 25, the competition attracted more than 500 students from four UIL districts, 3A-9, 4A-13, 5A-11, and 5A-12. The Dallas Education Foundation (DEF) is excited to announce its HeART of Teaching Discretionary Grant Awards Cycle. From now through May 5, 2023, DEF is accepting completed applications from Dallas ISD departments, campuses, and teachers who are seeking to fund innovative projects that advance learning or create equity through the Arts. The application is open to all teachers and not limited to those who are arts educators. The HeART of Teaching grants fund program creates opportunities for educators to integrate the arts into instruction and/or to create equity with new or existing arts programs.
