Each year, School Leadership and Human Capital Management partner to recognize outstanding teachers and campus leaders districtwide through the Teacher and Principal of the Year awards. Finalists for these awards are recognized during the district’s Winners Circle event, which also highlights teachers of promise. Once teachers are chosen by their campus as teacher of the year, they can apply for the districtwide recognition. Dallas ISD is gearing up to celebrate National School Breakfast Week. Happening from March 2-6, the week recognizes the importance of a healthy start to the day with breakfast to fuel children’s academic success. The theme is The Quest for School Breakfast, and cafeterias across the district will bring the celebration to life with special menus, events, activities, and more, with the goal of encouraging students to eat a healthy breakfast at school. The 2025-2026 class of the Dallas ISD Athletic Hall of Fame features eight legendary individuals who have made a fundamental impact on sports in the district and beyond. The induction ceremony is slated for Friday, April 10, at Ellis Davis Fieldhouse.

Students at Lincoln High School and Humanities/Communications Magnet received a masterclass in leadership from Ashley Williams, former deputy assistant to the president and senior advisor during the Biden-Harris Administration. Williams gave a behind-the-scenes look at national public service and high-level decision-making. She also shared candid reflections from her time in the White House, speaking openly about navigating professional spaces, overcoming obstacles, and embracing authenticity in leadership. Her visit created space for thoughtful dialogue, with students asking direct questions about breaking barriers and building careers in public service.
