Trustee Lew Blackburn is holding a District 5 community meeting on June 27 to discuss the new Pinkston High School. The meeting will be from 7–8 p.m. at the current high school located at 2200 Dennison St. Call 972-925-3719 for more details.

Students from Dallas ISD’s Sunset High School are training this week to be part of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). The training will help them know how to respond in the event of natural disasters, fires or terrorist attacks. Additional CERT classes will be offered this summer, and so far, more than 2,600 Dallas residents have been trained. See the entire CBS 11 story here.

The annual Dallas ISD Summer Dance Intensive is in its final week, with students in grades 3-5 learning skills in a variety of dance skills including ballet and modern dance, as well as lessons on choreography, performance and other skills.
