Thirty-one Class of 2017 Dallas ISD graduating seniors were recognized this month at a special reception for receiving United Negro College Fund (UNCF) scholarships. Funds for the UNCF scholarships were raised through Dallas ISD employee donations. Money was collected by feeder pattern, making it a friendly competition to benefit the most students. The school year might be over, but several Hillcrest High School students still have great memories of prom thanks to Salon Pompeo. Salon Pompeo provided six well-deserving students with free hair care (blow outs/updos for girls, boys clipped and styled), nails and make up services—along with a rental dress or tuxedo—for the school prom on May 13. The six students all excelled in areas of academic achievement, community service or outstanding perseverance.
