Students enrolled in the P-TECH education pathway across Dallas ISD were recently awarded letters of intent in recognition of their commitment and dedication to pursuing careers in education. This prestigious milestone marks a significant step in each student’s professional journey. The letter of intent guarantees future employment with Dallas ISD, offering a starting salary of at least $62,500 upon completion of both a bachelor’s degree and state teaching certification. Students are also eligible for critical shortage area incentives and a $5,000 SPED-self-contained incentive, along with benefits. During the third “Winner’s Circle Celebration,” Dallas ISD recognized outstanding teachers and campus leaders districtwide through the Teacher of the Year and Principal of the Year awards. This year’s 15 TOY and seven POY finalists reflect a diversity of backgrounds and experience, representing all nine trustee districts. From these groups, the elementary, secondary, and choice/magnet Teachers and Principals of the Year will be announced on May 6 at the 2024-2025 State of the District event. Dallas ISD is joining school districts across the state to form a high school girls flag football league. “My only regret is that they did not have girls flag football when I was growing up in Laredo. I was pretty good at ballet, but I bet I would have been even better at quarterback,” said Superintendent Stephanie S.
