The Adamson High School Alumni Association will hold its 19th Annual All-Class Reunion at the school on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Located at 309 E. Ninth in Oak Cliff, W. H. Adamson High School is the oldest continuously-active high school in the Dallas Independent School District. On Friday prior to the reunion, the Adamson Alumni 2019 Charity Golf Classic is scheduled at the Prairie Lakes Golf Course 3202 SE 14th Street in Grand Prairie. A group of students from the School of Business and Management are headed to New York to compete in the semi-finals of the 2019 Euro Challenge at the Federal Reserve Bank. The students will compete against 24 other teams from across the country by showcasing their financial literacy and knowledge of the European Union and its single currency, the euro. Participating teams will prepare a detailed presentation of current economic conditions in one of the 19 countries that share the euro, and proceed to make policy recommendations to improve that country’s competitiveness, human capital and sustainable growth. Barbara Brown McCoy is considered a trailblazer in Dallas ISD athletics for her accomplishments as a student-athlete, head coach and administrator at South Oak Cliff High School. Brown McCoy was one of the first beneficiaries of the recently passed Title IX legislation in 1972 as she honed her skills at Zumwalt Junior High before moving over to SOC in 1974. It didn’t take long for Brown McCoy to display her athletic prowess as she excelled in track & field, volleyball and basketball.
