All Dallas ISD students who will be in grades 6-12 during the 2022-2023 school year are eligible to take Honors classes. Honors classes are available in English, math, science, and social studies. High school campuses may have additional Honors classes available.   These classes encourage students to work with their classmates and to think more critically and creatively. They also create a strong foundation for advanced coursework in high school and college. At the end of January, 20 schools competed in the Region XII Academic Decathlon. Of those participating campuses, School of Science and Engineering and School for the Talented & Gifted received the highest team points in their respective divisions: medium and small.
