A tradition of generous support from PNC to support high quality early childhood education continues by way of a $30,000 donation from the PNC Foundation to the Dallas Education Foundation, Dallas ISD’s nonprofit philanthropic arm. This grant from PNC will help purchase distance learning technology for the district’s youngest learners, while traditional school and the summer months keep kids out of pre-K and early grade classrooms. Students at more than 15 Dallas ISD schools completed Anti Defamation Leagues’ No Place for Hate Program, an initiative geared toward preventing, recognizing and responding to bullying and bias. The program is a school climate improvement framework that provides schools with an organizing framework for combating bias, bullying and hatred, which leads to long-term solutions to foster and maintain a supportive environment. To receive their designation, schools must first take the NPFH pledge which includes lines about supporting a non-bullying environment and being an ally to peers. Carter High School senior Seyry Moreno grew up in a tight-knit household, to say the least.
