The Distinguished Teacher Review is a process within TEI that seeks to identify the district’s most effective teachers by examining their contributions to the teaching profession, lifelong learning and leadership. Interim Human Capital Management leader joins Dallas ISD

The Dallas Independent School District has announced that Karry L. Chapman will serve as interim chief of Human Capital Management, effective Feb. 17, 2015. Chapman has 16 years of leadership experience in human resources for school districts in North Texas. Most recently, she came out of retirement to be the interim assistant superintendent for administration and human resources in Irving ISD from 2011-14. Prior to Irving, she was the assistant superintendent for human resources in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD, preceded by serving as executive director for human resources in DeSoto ISD and personnel coordinator in Grand Prairie ISD. Mid-year report verifies achievements, positive momentum

At the start of this school year, Superintendent Mike Miles challenged Dallas ISD staff to “Think Differently and Act Courageously” in pursuit of the bold goals laid out in the Destination 2020 plan. Mayor’s report shows student performance outpaces projections

The George W. Bush Institute recently released its 2015 Mayors’ Report Card on Education which shows Dallas ISD students performed better than expected when compared to other districts with similar levels of poverty based on data from the 2013 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) National Report Card. Ninty percent of Dallas ISD students qualify for free or reduced-price meals, and according to the report, were expected to make a score of approximately 920 on the combined NAEP student achievement report.
