August – Show Up Dallas ISD!
The August Perfect Attendance incentive encourages students to be present for the first weeks of school. Attendance during the first weeks of school is critical for students to connect with teachers and peers and set the foundation for a successful year of learning. Research shows that when students are present in school, they learn, grow, and succeed at higher rates than their peers who are absent.
Every student with perfect attendance from Aug. 11 through Aug. 31 will be entered into a drawing for a prize.

September Attendance Awareness Month – Attendance Matters In Dallas ISD!
September Attendance Awareness is a national focus on spreading awareness and encouraging great school attendance. Many times, parents underestimate the number of times their student has been absent and do not know that missing two days a month during the school year can lead to a significant loss of instruction at every grade level.
Dallas ISD has multiple resources available to parents experiencing barriers to getting their students to school every day. Parents should contact their campus to communicate attendance concerns and always inform the attendance office when students will be out of school. Students must have excuse notes when they return after an absence.
Senior Year Perfect Attendance Awards
Students in 12th grade who have perfect attendance during their senior year will receive a special chord to wear at spring graduation. These students are also recognized in their school’s graduation program and have an opportunity to qualify for the Superintendent’s Scholarship.
Dallas ISD Perfect Attendance
Students in grades eight through 12 who attended a Dallas ISD school for their entire secondary school career and perfect attendance for each of those school years will receive special campus recognition at the end of the school year. To be eligible, students must have attended a Dallas ISD campus for all five years without a break in enrollment and obtained perfect attendance (no absences coded excused, unexcused, or out of school suspension).
