Dallas ISD celebrates distinguished scholars

As the school year draws to a close, Dallas ISD is shining a spotlight on thousands of high-achieving students whose dedication to academic excellence and college readiness has set them apart.

More than 10,000 students were recently honored by Superintendent Stephanie S. Elizalde, Ed.D., as part of the prestigious Dallas ISD Scholars Program. This elite recognition is awarded to students in grades seven through 12 who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and the potential for future success in higher education.

“I offer my personal congratulations to all of you this evening, and I thank you, students, for your award-winning academic accomplishments,” Elizalde said.

Among this year’s honorees, nearly 1,000 were seniors preparing for graduation. More than 1,500 students received AP Scholar recognition for exceptional performance on Advanced Placement exams. These academic distinctions serve as valuable credentials for college applications and résumés.

Additionally, 300 students were awarded honors through the College Board National Recognition Program, which highlights academic excellence on AP, PSAT/NMSQT, and SAT exams.

AVID scholars were also celebrated for their hard work and resilience. Out of nearly 5,000 students enrolled in AVID across the district, more than 400 seniors from 12 high schools were recognized for their dedication to preparing for college, careers, and life.

Through programs like these, Dallas ISD continues to provide pathways for success, empowering students with the tools, support, and recognition they need to thrive academically and socially.
