Class of 2026 summer graduates continue their legacy

Dallas ISD students proved that determination knows no timeline, crossing the stage during the summer commencement ceremony.

Hosted by the Graduation, Recovery, Attendance/Advocacy, and Dropout Intervention department, the ceremony celebrated scholars who put in the extra time and effort following the traditional school year to earn their diplomas. These graduates are stepping directly into their next chapters, with plans ranging from enrolling in higher education and entering the workforce to enlisting in the military.

“High school graduation indicates completion at the highest standard for the educational journey,” Leslie Swann, director of Advocacy & Outreach for the GRAAD department, said. “It’s the shining star at the end. It signifies that a scholar is a finisher. The journey may be different, the graduation outcome the same. Each scholar has a story of persistence, determination, and a will to achieve.”

Through credit recovery and acceleration programs at district reconnection centers, GRAAD team members walked alongside students offering steady mentorship, daily encouragement, and goal-setting support to help them cross the finish line. Dallas ISD congratulates the summer Class of 2026 as they take their next steps toward bright futures.
