Professional learning workshop

About 1,000 teachers attended a professional development workshop personalized to them to help them become even more effective at working with students. (Watch this)

Summer meal milestone

Staff, students, volunteers and partners celebrated the 100,000^th free meal served by the Dallas ISD Summer Food Program at the Youth World Learning Center. (Read this)

Valuable partnership

For the second consecutive year, Dallas ISD partnered with the Annette Caldwell Simmons School at Southern Methodist University (SMU) to provide targeted professional development academies and courses for district teachers. (Read this)

Speedometry lessons

Teachers from Dallas ISD ACE schools and the Intensive Support Network learned how to teach Speedometry, a curriculum developed by Hot Wheels and The University of Southern California. (Watch this)

Voicing support

Dr. Brad Olsen, Dallas ISD Director of Choir and Elementary Music, helped organize a free concert at the Meyerson Symphony Center to honor the victims of the recent downtown shooting tragedy. (Watch this)
