State Fair of Texas awards nearly $500,000 in college scholarships to 82 graduating Dallas ISD seniors

The State Fair of Texas is providing nearly $500,000 in college scholarships to 82 graduating Dallas ISD seniors.
The State Fair of Texas Pete Schenkel Scholarship awards outstanding seniors from six Dallas ISD high schools surrounding the State Fair of Texas. The students each received $6,000 scholarships in recognition of their academic performance and class ranking. The scholarships are named for former State Fair of Texas chairman Pete Schenkel.
The students awarded scholarships attend Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership School, Franklin D. Roosevelt, James Madison, Lincoln, North Dallas, and Woodrow Wilson high schools.
