North Dallas High School students get sneak peek at college

North Dallas High School seniors got a sneak peek at college last week thanks to a lecture from an Associate Professor of History at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Professor Eric Schlereth gave a college-style lecture to seniors that showed them what they could expect next year.

“Most seniors have heard a lot about college, but it’s always sort of an unknown until you hear someone from the other side talk about it,” Schlereth said. “I hope this lecture gave them a much better idea of what a college class is all about.”

Education is Freedom (EIF) hosted the event at North Dallas High School. Kevin Malonson, Director of Market and Campus Operations at EIF, said the lecture demystified college for the students.

“This lets students know that a college professor is a regular person who they can talk to and ask for help when they need it,” Malonson said. “So now if a student needs to go see a professor when they are in college, they will hopefully feel comfortable to do so.”
