With its successful offering of $75 million in bonds earlier this month, the Dallas Independent School District was able to obtain funds for repairing, equipping and replacing existing school facilities while saving taxpayer money. The proceeds from bond financing, known as Multi-Modal Limited Maintenance Tax Notes, will finance some of the improvements outlined in the $148 million Interim Bridge Plan approved in March by the Board of Trustees. The School for the Talented and Gifted at the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center (TAG) has been named the best high school in the nation for the fourth consecutive year by U.S. News & World Report. The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees today is holding a special meeting to consider and take possible action regarding the employment of Superintendent Mike Miles. The meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. in the Ada L. Williams Auditorium, 3700 Ross Ave. The board is expected to retire to a closed session for discussion. Any action will be taken in open session.
