On Tuesday, a small group of alumni, teachers, and staff gathered to say their final goodbyes to Geneva Heights Elementary as we’ve known it, as a five-day demolition project began. “I have been at Geneva Heights for 21 years, so it is sad to see it come down, but I am so excited to be getting a brand-new building,” said teacher assistant Maricruz Espinoza. Durante las inundaciones del lunes, la conductora del autobús escolar de Dallas ISD, Simone Edmond, y la monitora del autobús, Tekendria Valentine, tuvieron que pensar rápidamente para rescatar a dos hermanos de un torrente de agua. During Monday’s unexpected flooding, Dallas ISD school bus driver Simone Edmond and bus monitor Tekendria Valentine had to think quickly to rescue two siblings from rushing water.  After they finished their usual route, dispatch called on the duo to assist with picking up another group of children who needed transportation. When they arrived, they found that the students had gone back home, so Edmond headed back to the bus lot.
