More than 1,600 Dallas ISD seniors celebrate early college acceptances

More than 1,600 Dallas ISD seniors celebrate early college acceptances

As 2023 comes to an end, Dallas ISD’s class of 2024 will enter the new year with early college acceptances to some of the nation’s most prestigious institutions.

Over 1,600 seniors have received acceptance letters from at least one college or university. University of Notre Dame, Yale University, Cornell University, and Johns Hopkins University are just a few of the renowned universities that have extended invitations to Dallas ISD students, who are now positioned to chase their dreams beyond high school graduation.

Juan G., senior at Spruce High School, recently received an early acceptance letter from Notre Dame. 

“We are overjoyed with Juan’s growth and confidence. He has been able to defy the odds and the stigma of access to post-secondary opportunities in the Pleasant Grove area. Juan has not only made his family proud; he has made the community of Pleasant Grove proud as well,” said Traci Smith, Juan’s school counselor.

With a focus on equity and excellence, Dallas ISD continues to create opportunities for all students to achieve their goals.
