During the Jan. 12 Dallas ISD Board Briefing, the Dallas Education Foundation (DEF) provided an update on how the organization supported and invested in the district’s initiatives during 2022.
As both a fundraising and grant-making organization, DEF accomplished a great deal in 2022 to continue its efforts to contribute toward student success in Dallas ISD.
From 285 donors, DEF reached a fundraising goal of $1.55M. Critically, DEF disbursed more than $1.54M in 85 grants for the benefit of Dallas ISD students, teachers, and schools.
Highlights from the year include the foundation’s first annual impact report, a book vending machine at a Dallas ISD school, sponsorship for the Dallas ISD Educator of the Year awards, and contributions from more than 100 first-time donors.
DEF is a registered 501(c)(3) organization and serves as the nonprofit, philanthropic partner of Dallas ISD. DEF aligns with the district’s strategic initiatives to enhance programs and initiatives that go beyond what the district’s operating budget can fund.
