This past weekend, school districts across Texas hosted their University Interscholastic League (UIL) Spring Academic meets in which students competed in more than 20 competitive academic events ranging from speaking to STEM to writing contests.
More than 300 Dallas ISD students competed in UIL Academics in four districts: 3A-9, 4A-12, 5A-12, and 6A-11, and 14 Dallas schools qualified to advance to regionals. To be eligible for UIL Regionals, students had to place first, second or third in their respective contests. UIL Academic Regional Competition is scheduled for April 22-23 in various locations.
Dallas ISD hosted the UIL District Spring Academic meets for Districts 4A-12 and 5A-12 at Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy on March 26th. Here are the overall winners from each district according to championship points earned by students for their schools.
