Thanks to the P-TECH program, more than 10 percent of Dallas ISD seniors are expected to graduate this year with a high school diploma and an associate degree.

This represents an incredible turnaround since 2009, when only 7 percent of Dallas ISD students earned any kind of secondary credits within six years after graduating high school.

“When we started this (P-TECH) journey many years ago, we knew it would be good, but it keeps getting better,” Superintendent Michael Hinojosa said.

In partnership with Dallas College, Dallas ISD offers a wide variety of early college programs inclusive of 18 Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools (P-TECH), five Early College High Schools and three Collegiate Academies. Currently,  there are 85 industry partners that support the P-TECH program throughout the district by providing opportunities for students to engage in workplace learning experiences.
