Transforming Traditional Learning— Bringing School to Your Home!

Dallas Hybrid Preparatory at Stephen J. Hay provides families a new alternative to traditional learning schedules, balancing learning at home with learning at campus by creating a flexible learning environment that promotes community collaboration, equitable opportunities, and excellence for all students.

“We were motivated to choose Hybrid School because of the platform that included virtual as well as in-person learning,” said Kim and Lawrence Strange, parents of Kennedy, a future Dallas Hybrid Prep student. “The idea of something unique and innovative that would allow our daughter to creatively learn was also a huge factor!”

Ariss Rinder mother of Jesai, a fifth-grader, said, “One of the reasons we chose Dallas Hybrid Prep School is because it was a perfect fit that gave us the best of both worlds which includes flexibility, awesome student engagement, STEM learning, and the ability to be in control of your own learning remotely. …Jesai is a competitive athlete and gamer who loves drones, coding, and any type of DIY project. So, when she heard about all of the things that Hybrid Prep would offer including the virtual platform that felt like a video game, the podcast room, and the gamification learning model, she was ready to start school yesterday.”

And Jennifer Winnon, mother of sixth-grader Janell, said, “We chose Hybrid School for the real-life innovative experiences she will need to succeed in life today. I see my daughter gaining many skills she will need throughout life. I also see her having to learn to be flexible in the moment, and she will certainly have to learn to be organized and take control and responsibility of her own path in life.”

At Dallas Hybrid Preparatory, students will attend classes in the school building twice a week and engage in remote learning three days a week. While on campus, students will design projects based on their own unique interests and needs while developing and demonstrating competencies. During remote learning, scholars will have pacing flexibility as well as engage in discussion boards, blogs, and pre-recorded webinars and lectures.

“Our school model will provide students the opportunity to engage in a real-time, enhanced reality with wondrous worlds explicitly created to intensify the learning discovery experience,” said Principal Olga Romero. “We have engaged our parents in the design and development of the school of the future to enhance the learning experience for all stakeholders. Our parents will also participate in our parent academies every month to maintain open communication and a culture of learning for all.“
