It’s Volunteer Appreciation Week (and Dallas ISD has much to appreciate)

0

This volunteer appreciation week is the perfect time for Dallas ISD to say thank you to individuals and organizations of all stripes—agencies, businesses, public, private and higher education, faith-based, PTAs and parent organizations—who have stepped up to aid us in a year like no other. Thanks to your generosity, the district’s 150,000 students have received support ranging from uniforms and unique learning experiences to sports and higher education opportunities.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic placed severe limits on volunteer involvement over the past year—resulting in scaled-back activities and drastic drops of in-person support, many of our volunteers and partners persisted in helping schools and students from a distance. And we thank you for your loyalty, patience, flexibility and understanding.

Donations of masks, sanitizer and other PPE, school supplies, staff meals, food boxes for families, and funding for program support and student recognition have helped to meet critical needs and provided a ray of hope and normalcy during this uncertain time. Each donor and volunteer’s talent, expertise, resources, concern and prayers are priceless gifts that enhance the work of teachers, staff and administrators.

We are forever grateful to our family of partners and community members who have stood alongside us as we pursue our mission of “Educating all students for success.” We look forward to brighter days next school year and opportunities to once again open our doors to partners and volunteers!
